Reasi, April 29: Continuing its resolute drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan, Reasi Police, under the overall supervision of SSP Reasi Sh. Mukund Tibrewal, IPS, achieved a significant success by apprehending two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance at Katra.
Today, a naka was established by Police Station Katra at Balni Bridge for routine checking and surveillance. During checking, a scooty bearing registration number JK20D-1997 was intercepted for inspection.
Upon thorough checking, police recovered 35 small packets of Ganja weighing approximately 158 grams from the possession of the two persons riding the scooty.
The accused were identified as:
Kaka Kumar S/o Raju R/o Paharganj, Katra
Robin S/o Paras Ram R/o Paharganj, Katra
Both accused were immediately taken into custody and the vehicle used in the commission of offence was also seized.
In this regard, FIR No. 130/2026 under sections 8/20/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is in progress.
