Kathua, 08 June: To review security arrangements for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, *Ms. Mohita Sharma, IPS, SSP Kathua*_ conducted a comprehensive Joint “Security Review cum Coordination Meeting” with other agencies at Conference Hall DPL Kathua. The meeting was attended by Addl. SP Kathua, SP Ops Border Kandi Kathua, SP Ops Upper Kathua, and representatives from 401 Bgd. Basohli Morh, 84 Bgd. Rampur Billawar, 168 Bgd. Samba, 51 Inf. Bgd Mamoon Cantt Pathankot, Army Intelligence Janglote, CO IRP 19th Bn, SSP Traffic Rural Jammu, CO 158 TA Janglote, CO 107 Bn BSF, CO 82 Bn BSF, CO 159 Bn BSF, CO 121 Bn CRPF, DCIO IB Kathua, Dy. Field Officer Special Bureau, GOI, DySP CID CI/SB Kathua, DySP Home Guard/SDRF, all supervisory officers including SHOs of Lower Kathua (physically) and Upper Kathua (virtually), SHO GRP Kathua, etc.SSP Kathua gave a detailed presentation on security arrangements, surveillance measures, convoy management, QRT deployment, and emergency response plans for SANJY-2026.Addressing the officers, *SSP Kathua Ms. Mohita Sharma, IPS* stressed maximum alertness, strict adherence to security protocols, and pilgrim-friendly conduct during Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026.She further directed the supervisory officers to strengthen security arrangements through regular inspection of Langars, lodgement centres, and other Yatra-related facilities, while maintaining close surveillance over suspicious movements and anti-national elements. Officers present at the meeting were also instructed to intensify intelligence generation, promptly share actionable inputs, and maintain close coordination with intelligence agencies and other stakeholders to ensure a robust and proactive security grid.Thereafter, directions were issued to ensure security along the Border National Highway (NHW) and Railway Track with special focus on round-the-clock domination, naka points, and area domination patrols. Emphasis was also laid on completing census and tenant verification drives along NHW, at hotels/dhabas, and among factory workers to rule out the presence of any anti-national elements in the vicinity of the Yatra route.SSP Kathua emphasized strengthening surveillance and response capabilities by intensifying drone-based monitoring, installation of X-Ray machines, and deploying Dog Squads for anti-sabotage checks at vital installations, including Base Camp Lakhanpur and Yatra locations, and ensuring the operational readiness of QRTs. She also stressed seamless inter-agency coordination among Police, CAPFs, Civil Administration, Traffic Police, Health Services, and other departments, with a focus on prompt information sharing, joint preparedness, and effective response to any exigency.Officers were further directed to ensure effective management and security of Yatra mini-convoys and to enhance CCTV coverage at all important Yatra locations with dedicated 24×7 monitoring. SSP Kathua reiterated the need for high operational readiness and coordinated efforts to ensure the safe, smooth, and successful conduct of SANJY-2026.
