Amarnath Yatra 2026 Preparations Reviewed in Jammu
Amarnath Yatra 2026 preparations were reviewed by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo in a high-level meeting held in Jammu on April 16.
The meeting was held for the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra which will start from July 3, 2026. Many senior officers from civil and police departments attended the meeting.
Amarnath Yatra 2026 Preparations Registration Update
Officials informed that registration for the yatra started on April 15. On the first day, 19,402 pilgrims registered.
The Pratham Puja will be held on June 29 before the start of the yatra.
Amarnath Yatra 2026 Preparations Roads and Routes
The Chief Secretary said special focus should be on safe travel for pilgrims.
He asked for better arrangements on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and main routes via Baltal and Chandanwari.
Border Roads Organisation was told to clear snow by May 15 and ensure safety with sign boards and barriers.
PWD was asked to repair roads near base camps and fix helipads at Baltal, Neelgrath, and Pahalgam.
Amarnath Yatra 2026 Preparations Safety and Disaster Plan
The Disaster Management Department was told to identify danger areas and clear debris near the cave.
An Integrated Command and Control Centre will be ready in Srinagar by June 10 for better monitoring.
Amarnath Yatra 2026 Preparations Health and Facilities
The Health Department will set up 100-bed hospitals at Baltal and Chandanwari by June 20.
Doctors, staff, and ambulances will be available on routes and camps.
Water and electricity departments were told to ensure regular supply, along with RO systems and backup power.
Amarnath Yatra 2026 Preparations Cleanliness and Services
Departments were asked to manage waste properly during the 57-day yatra.
Service providers and pony owners will be registered with a digital system and fixed rates.
Food supplies will be available without any problem.
Amarnath Yatra 2026 Preparations Communication and Weather
Weather updates will be given using modern systems by the India Meteorological Department.
LED screens will show real-time updates. Telecom services will be improved for better connectivity.
Fire and Emergency teams will also stay ready with full equipment and safety checks.
