Reasi Police Cracks Down on Drug Network, Attaches ₹45 Lakh Properties of Notorious Peddler in Katra

Katra, May 25, 2026: Under the ongoing _Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan_, Reasi Police intensified its crackdown on drug networks by attaching immovable properties worth ₹45 lakh belonging to notorious drug accused Jamad Ali @ Jamat of Kheri Paroh, Katra. The properties, including 2 residential houses, were attached under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, 1985 by a team led by SDPO & SHO Katra. They are believed to have been acquired through proceeds from illegal narcotics trade. The accused is involved in four NDPS cases at Police Station Katra — FIR No. 22/2020, 217/2022, 145/2025, and 322/2025. Due to repeated offences, he was booked under the PITNDPS Act and is presently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal, Jammu. Reasi Police reiterated its commitment to making the district drug-free and appealed to the public to share information on drug trafficking to help build a “Drug-Free Society.”
