Reasi, 26.05.2026: Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Reasi Police achieved another success by recovering heroin from one person during naka checking at Nomain Naka, Katra.Today, during routine naka checking and frisking at Police Check Point (PCP) Nomain, a person coming from Jammu side was intercepted by the police party. During his personal search, approximately 6 grams of heroin (Chitta) was recovered from the pocket of his trouser.During preliminary enquiry, the accused disclosed his identity as Shubham Bhandari S/o Munish Bhandari R/o Afghan Mohalla, Kachi Chawni, Jammu.In this regard, a case FIR No. 161/2025 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra and investigation has been taken up.Reasi Police reiterates its firm commitment towards eradicating the drug menace from society and appeals to the general public to cooperate with police by sharing any information related to drug peddling or narcotics activities in their area.
