Continuing its aggressive campaign against drug menace under SSP Sh. Mukund Tibrewal, IPS, Reasi Police registered two separate NDPS cases and recovered 5.58 grams of heroin in swift operations on April 23.In the first incident, a naka party at Talwara Police Post Checkpoint intercepted a Yamaha motorcycle, JK20C-9374, after the riders tried to turn back on seeing police. The duo was identified as Dalip Singh of Gari, Thakrakote, and Varun Kumar of Susla, Reasi. During search, 3.28 grams of heroin was recovered from Varun Kumar. FIR No. 73/2026 under Sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Reasi.In a separate operation, a police patrol team at Sulla Naka apprehended Ranjeet Singh of Sujandhar, Reasi, who was moving suspiciously on foot. A search led to recovery of 2.3 grams of heroin from his possession. FIR No. 72/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered.Both operations were led by SHO Reasi Inspector Khyatimaan Khajuria under supervision of DySP HQ Reasi Vishal Singh Jamwal and Addl. SP Reasi Iftkhar Ahmed (JKPS).Reasi Police reiterated its zero-tolerance policy against narcotics under the _Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan_ and appealed to the public to share information on drug peddling to help build a drug-free society.
