Reasi Police has intensified its crackdown on illegal liquor trade as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan launched under the directions of SSP Reasi Sh. Mukund Tibrewal, IPS.
On April 22 at around 2000 hours, a naka party deployed at Sool Naka, Kakryal under Police Post Kakryal intercepted a man walking from Manthal towards Katra with suspicious movement. The individual, identified as Devi Das S/o Krishan Chand, resident of Panthal, Tehsil Katra, was carrying a bag that raised suspicion.
Upon checking, police recovered 32 bottles of DMB JK Special Whiskey (250 ml each) from his possession. A case vide FIR No. 120/2026 under Section 223(a) BNS has been registered at Police Station Katra and further investigation is underway.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of SHO Katra Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao, with close oversight from SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey (JKPS) and SP Katra Sh. Kameshwar Puri (JKPS).
Reasi Police reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating the menace of drugs and illicit liquor from society. The district police has appealed to citizens to support the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan by sharing timely information about any unlawful activities related to drugs or illegal liquor trade in their areas.
