In a major crackdown against drug trafficking and its financial networks, Police Station Mendhar of District Police Poonch has attached immovable property belonging to a notorious drug peddler, Aijaz Ahmed @ Mantoo S/O Ghulam Sarwar R/O Village Ari, Tehsil Mendhar, District Poonch, under the stringent provisions of the NDPS Act.
The action was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act by PS Mendhar, following a thorough investigation which established that the accused was actively involved in illicit trafficking of narcotic substances and had accumulated assets through proceeds of drug-related activities.
The attached property comprises a residential house situated at Village Ari, Tehsil Mendhar, which has been identified as illegally acquired through drug trafficking. The attachment was executed after completing all legal formalities and in due compliance with the law.
The accused is involved in FIR No. 40/2021 U/S 8(a)/21/22/27 NDPS Act of Police Station Gursai, and has been under sustained surveillance for his involvement in narcotics trade in the region.
This decisive action by Police Station Mendhar reflects the firm resolve of District Police Poonch to dismantle the financial backbone of drug peddlers. By targeting illicit assets, police aim to send a strong message that involvement in drug trafficking will invite strict legal consequences.
The action forms part of the ongoing “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan,” aimed at eradicating drug abuse and trafficking from society.
